Ebstein-Barr virus (EBV) infects lymphoid cells in immunosuppressed transplant patient and causes unregulated expansion of lymphoid cells.

• Range from lymphoid hyperplasia to malignant lymphoid proliferation
• Presents as adenopathy, fever, malaise
• Can involve, CNS, chest, abdomen, etc

Differential in Patient A

• Graft versus host diseases (GVHD)
• Colitis
