  • Metastases are far more common than primary bone tumors (25:1)
  • 80% of skeletal metastases are due to lung, breast, prostate, and kidney
  • 50% of cancer patients will eventually develop skeletal metastases


Breast - lytic or sclerotic
Lung - typically lytic
Prostate - typically sclerotic
Renal Cell - typically lytic
Thyroid - typically lytic
