Intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm

aka IPMN, IPMT


Arise from the epithelial lining of the pancreatic ducts. Secrete excessive volume of mucin into the pancreatic duct causing dilatation and cytic ectasia. Low grade malignancy. Branch (focal) type or Main Duct type with diffuse dilatation of pancreatic duct, more commonly mixed.


  • Pancreatic ductal dilatation and ectasia (bunch of grapes)
  • Atrophy of the pancreas
  • Amorphous calcifications
  • ERCP shows classic multicytic dilatation of duct
