Hepatoblastoma

Malignant embryonic hepatic tumor composed of epithelial cells and occasionally a mesenchymal cells.

• Painless, large, well-defined, heterogeneous liver mass in an infant
• Calcifications in up to half of the patients
• Most common hepatic malignancy in children
• Elevated AFP in more than 90% of patients
• Poor prognosis

• Mesenchymal hamartoma
• Hemangioendothelioma
• Hepatocellular carcinoma (Hepatitis B or aflatoxin exposure)
