Foregut duplication cyst

Foregut duplication cysts are rare congenital anomalies of enteric origin found most commonly in children and rarely in adults. Abnormal canalization of the GI tract, may be communicating or non-communicating, cystic or tubular.


Can be associated with verterbral and cord anomolies. Presence of vertebral anomalies renders the enterogenic cysts to be called neurenteric cyst, dispite neural tissue histologically.

  • Enteric cysts
  • Bronchogenic cysts
  • Esophageal duplication cysts
