  • Irreversible bronchial dilitation from chronic infection
  • Secondary to proximal airway obstruction (infection) or congenital abnormaility (cystic fibrosis, marfan's syndrome, kartagener's syndrome)
  • Larger than accompanying pulmonary artery, signet ring sign
  • Lack of tapering or bronchi within 1cm of pleura.
